So summer's right around the corner! I can remember back in elementary school when summer took forever to come. You went back to school on that Tuesday after Labor Day, and it already felt like summer was long gone... May rolled around, and you thought that last month of school would drag on forever...
Whatever happened to that?! Why is it that the older you get, the faster life passes you by? You have more responsibilities. More schoolwork, chores, recreational events. So shouldn't you be more annoyed at how far summer really is? Or do we just have a better concept of 24 hours in a day, 7 days a week, 4 1/2 weeks a month, and 9 months until summer as we get older?
Maybe we just have too much free time as kids. We don't know what to do with ourselves. We explore adventure after adventure until our parents' limits control our boundaries. Whatever the case, life is almost too fast now.
Oh! And on top of all of that. When summer DID arrive, it felt like the full three months, when we were in elementary school. Now that we're teenagers, three months feels like three days. Legit.
We're working on setting up for college. Dual enrollment. Yippee. Two years away from actually heading off to college for four years.... yet we have to worry about transferring credits, majoring in certain subjects, and the biggie. Financial support. Can you afford two years let alone four??
Let's just say, time flies, whether you're having fun or not.

Lookin' Up! Nawt.
Phew. It's been a while since I've posted. But hey, better late than never eh?
So everything in my family that had happened is running smooth. Both of my grandfathers made a full recovery. My dad has an amazing job that he adores. I'm more happy. Less mourning over the losses in my life.
Yeah. Then Josh, my 12 year old brother decided to pull the dumbest stunt of his life. He ran away from home last Monday, 3/39/10. Hah. He left around 2:45 PM without any of us noticing. My parents were out. Dad working, Mom with her parents at the doctor's. Katie and I were calmly doing our schoolwork. Josh slips. Gone.
Katie and I realized it around 3:15. Basically tore apart the entire house from top to bottom. Looked everywhere. I eventually had to call Mom at 3:30. I couldn't decide what to do. She had me send Kate to look around the neighborhood. While I kept looking the house. Calling to Josh, saying if he didn't come out, we were calling 911. Little did I know, that would actually be required....
Katie came back.
Nothing. No trace.
She took over the searching while Mom kept telling me things to look for. 5 minutes later, I heard a loud yell. Katie had found a "To-Go" list of Josh's. He planned the runaway, taking money, clothes. He had three bags, and a cooler with him, we later found out.
After that, Mom had me call 911, since we were positive he ran away. I gave the description, and a police officer arrived at the house, followed by Mom, about 15 minutes later. (It's about 4:15 PM now.) Luckily, another officer had actually seen and stopped Josh about 5 minutes (driving distance) up the road around 3:30PM. He didn't have the authority to pick him up then, because we hadn't realized he was missing. So we had a headstart in where he was going. Mom and the police officer went out to look for him. 20 minutes later, Mom called saying they had him. Police officer picked him up. Brought him home close to 5. I made dinner to keep busy, Hah.
He stayed in his room until around 7 that night. We had a family discussion around 9. It was ridiculous. He blamed our family. He thought he didn't deserve punishment. Honestly? It was downright annoying. I couldn't believe he'd try to throw it all on us.. acting like we all hate him.
For the record. Male teenagers are way too dramatic. xP So yeah. Tensions are still high in my household. I swear, I'd rather be starving than deal with this... My family is ridiculously dramatic and no one wants to take any blame.
You may only cast a stone if none of you have sinned...
........Yeah. I think my family needs to rethink. xD

What a Week.
I'm pretty sure this has been the worst week since Andrew died back in July. It's almost like...shocking, I really thought 2009 would leave with all the bad times, and we'd start off 2010 with a bang!
Yeah....WRONG!!
To start, I had a completely boring weekend, other than watching the Cowboys win and harrassing Tyler. My dad pretty much put in 24 extra hours of work trying to complete a project.
So Monday roles around...and we all know how hated Mondays are. Well, I especially hate this past one. Around 10 AM, Dad called, though I didn't know it was him at first. I heard my mom start to say "NO! What?! No..." and she started to cry. I swear my heart may have stopped beating for a few seconds there. I thought someone had died, and I can't take anymore death. Hannah and Andrew in one year were way too many...
So five minutes later, I walk out of the bathroom, after combing my hair, and there's my mom, sitting on the footrest in my bedroom.
Sobbing her heart out.
If there's one thing I hate more than myself crying, it's when my mom crys. She is one of the strongest people I have ever met. She's my role model, my hero. I trust her with my life. She's the person I strive to become, the one I look up to. Seeing her sobbing, well, it just devastates me.
Katie, my 14 yr. old sister, whispered...dad had lost his job. That's why Mom was so upset, so heartbroken. We've been through this so many times before, he must have been laid off four or five times now in my almost 16 years of life. But no one saw this one coming. Not a single one of us. He worked his butt off for this company, did everything humanly possible to do things right and get work done. They used him!! He put in 24 hours of work over the weekend, and they let him...knowing that they were going to lay him off on Monday morning. The only comfort I have is knowing that 49 other people were laid off Monday as well, and even more last week.
It just doesn't seem fair. For my dad, a hard-working, loyal man, to be laid off...because his salary was too large for the company's expenses. Yup, that's why they fired him.
Ridiculous.
I really just am struggling with putting all my trust in God. I can't stand to think that He would do something like this to my family, especially when we're still recovering with our finances. We're not poor, but we aren't bountiful either. It's just hard to think God is really out there, when such terrible things happen. It just seems like one after the other, deaths, my many injuries in one year, now this. It's so wrong.
Just need prayer. Am not having a good week. He's already got potential job offers, but those are so inconsistant that I don't want to get my hopes up too high.
Oh, the struggles we go through.

Overthinking
So.
Overthinking.
I hate it.
It's like...
You can't think of something quickly.
You have to examine every possible outcome with every possible combination.
Which takes twice as long as you expected.
Terrible.
Life just needs to be easier. Even ROAD MAPS are easier than life, and they're pretty complex.
Maybe life should be like a road map. You consult the piece of paper in front of you, and follow the directions. Like mapquest. Plug in what you're thinking, and be given instant answers.
Unless, of course, you type something wrong. Then you have errors and are sent in the wrong direction.
Best part is, when you overthink things, you forget what you were thinking about in the first place. xD
So. If you just make quick, snappy decisions, not only will you save yourself time, you will say yourself the terrible stress and confusion of overthinking things.
Point made.
Overthinking is overrated.
Grah...
